The proposed budget for the Norwegian national government for 2020 will take away tax collection from the municipal government units and make it a part of the national tax office. Is this a good or a bad move? I´ll look into this matter in the next few days since I think this proposal can make it more difficult for residents outside Norway´s capital, Oslo, to have a more direct contact with the government on matters about their taxes. The time is running out for Norway´s municipalities to put up a fight to keep this function within their jurisdiction.
