Pruds.no is a Web site owned and administered by Prudencia Orani Hoddevik (Pru) in her capacity as a private citizen of Norway, an independent thinker, writer-editor, and digital creator. Pru realized late in life that no matter what citizenship she will hold, she will always be an “immigrant” with origins from the Philippines and influences from Asia, America, Norway, and the rest of Europe.
Pru holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Master of Arts in Economics from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines. She also took up units in financial accounting, finance, Norwegian business laws, and taxation from the BI Norwegian Business School. She has worked as an economic and financial consultant in Norway since 2011. Before migrating to Norway, she worked on researches in economics, taxation, and the information and communications technology (ICT) market in the Philippines. She spent eight years as managing editor-general manager of then the Philippines´ oldest IT publication, Metropolitan Computer Times (MCT) that had both paper and online versions as well as newswire services. MCT folded up in 2004.
Pruds.no will contain blogs and articles on various topics, grouped in the following categories:
• Ideas (culture, literature, environment, politics, etc.);
• Business and technology;
• Food, plants, and health;
• Norway;
• Philippines;
• Earth & Climate.
Some contents will be available in either English or Norwegian, while others will be available in both languages.
This Web site supports critical thinking and the power of a positive attitude. Pru believes the world can become a better place, if only people cared to speak out and try to be active participants of the society they live in. At the moment, the site is one of the site owner´s hobbies.
