The Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS) under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) publishes ”Earthquake Bulletins of latest seismic events in the Philippines.” The event parameters (hypocenter, time and magnitude) are determined using incoming data from the Philippine National Seismic Network. See this link for these bulletins. https://www.phivolcs.dost.gov.ph/index.php/earthquake/earthquake-information3.

I´d be writing articles on the earthquakes there, especially how the victims are doing these days, what kind of help they need, who are helping them, and the infrastructure and properties that have been damaged. I´d be contacting some of my friends based in Mindanao for this.

I will also be contacting directly PHILVOCS to know more about the state of the Philippine government´s earthquake warning system and other related matters. I´m doing this because the knowledge I´d acquire from writing these articles would help me and others there to understand better and be prepared about earthquakes (for overseas Filipinos like me — what to do about earthquakes whenever we visit/stay the Philippines), as well as know more about how each one could help earthquake victims in many practical ways. I don´t know if I´d translate my earthquake posts to Norwegian because Norway is not an earthquake-prone country.
